Friends of Mt. Washington

Friends of Mt. Washington School is a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise funds and obtain donations to support educational, student enrichment, and capital improvement programs for Mt. Washington Elementary.

Since 1993 it has been the mission of FOMWS to fund the extra curricular activities not supported by the district. We are committed to supplementing the education of the children by forging partnerships with businesses and individuals in our community.

What Recyclables We Accept: 

• Aluminum Drink Cans
• Glass
• Plastic Bottles, and Plastic Food Containers with a 1 or 2 in the triangle 

Please NO Food Cans or Paper Goods. 

You can drop off your bottles and cans every Monday morning throughout the school year. If you live in the area and do not have a child that attends the school you can still drop off your recyclables at the school's entrance. 

Edible school garden

The edible school garden at Mount Washington Elementary School exists because of our passionate community engagement and hard work. With our partnership with Enrich LA and support from volunteers and teachers, students learn about the variety of vegetables and fruits that grow in the garden, how to tend to plants and so much more hands on education! 

Each classroom will have six weeks of Garden Instruction by Enrich LA.
